Friday, March 5th, 2010

Is this natural or not? In this post i take a closer look atmospheric changes during the recent Chilean Earthquake. Could this tragic earthquake been triggered but something like HAARP? Some people have recorded strange aural changes proceeding to the date of the quake – your comments on this appreciated

The below reporter says:
“I saw the Sky Changing Colors!” ” I thought it was the end of the world, If you saw 2012, it was like that…..” A Chilean reporter was just interviewed on CNN and said when the Earthquake happened the sky changed colors. She said she was afraid it wasthe end of the world and that she saw whole buildings fall into cracks in the earth “just like in the movie 2012″.

Howard Bloom: Giving America a Vision Implant

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Author Howard Bloom on giving America a vision transplant now that our old one has crashed.

The Great Recession of 2008 and 2009 could be a turning point in history. It could be the event that shocks us into a new vision of ourselves, our past, our future, our mission, and our destiny. Or it could be the prelude to a long decline. Will that turning point be for better or for worse? Will it be a new beginning, a new opportunity to see what we’ve achieve with brand new eyes and to build on our foundations brilliantly? Or will it be the end? The beginning of the Chinese Century?

The answer depends on something that may sound totally irrelevant. Our perceptions. Our view of things. Without a vision a people will perish, says Proverbs. Why? Because a vision of a goal, a destination, a promised land, a view of a destiny that can uplift all of human kind, opens a vast reserve of energies. Not the energies that come from solar panels, wind farms, nuclear plants, coal, or oil. The energies of the human spirit. The energies of your spirit and mine.

Energies? Surely that’s just an idle metaphor, sloppy motivational rhetoric, fluffy feel-good poetry. Right? Wrong. The energies I’m talking about are a matter of biology.

New sun spots forming – the start of the 2012 solar storms?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

As we approach 2012 – the peak of solar storm cycle , there is evidence that the sun is already starting to experience major new activity this week:
(Also – is it no co-incidence NASA is to launch the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) tomorrow ? – an urgent attempt to study the sun as we approach 2012? ).

A new group of spots is traversing the face of the sun. Sunspot group 1045 is an active region that has produced moderate (M-class) solar flares.
The spots could unleash a major (X-class) flare, though that probability is low, according to the U.S. Space Weather Prediction Center.

Sunspots are areas of intense magnetic activity, cooler than the surrounding solar surface. They act like caps on a soda bottle, and when things are shaken up sufficiently, the caps blow and a flare of radiation is released, often along with a cloud of charged particles called a coronal mass ejection.

Such space weather can pound Earth’s protective magnetic field, with the most severe X-class storms crippling satellites and having the potential to knock out power grids on Earth.
Each of the new spot in the group is about twice the diameter of Earth, according to Spaceweather.com.

Experienced backyard astronomers with properly outfitted telescopes can easily see the spots. However, looking at the sun through a telescope without a proper safety lens can permanently damage your eyes. Continue reading – space

Chatroulette: The New Facebook (NSFW) + (WTF!)

Chatroulette-at-your-own-risk-490x496_thumb

I read about the beta-launch of something called Chatroulette this morning on a German blog I frequent called Nerdcore and something tells me this thing is gonna be HUGE. As in huge, huge. Facebook huge.

First off, it’s super easy to use—hit the “start” button, and you’re off. The people you’ll meet are from all over the world and Chatroulette works in real time (like Skype) and there’s audio, too.

Engineers and scientists from NASA and GM worked together through a Space Act Agreement at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston to build a new humanoid robot capable of working side by side with people. Using leading edge control, sensor and vision technologies, future robots could assist astronauts during hazardous space missions and help GM build safer cars and plants.
