Where does the name YUPNOWZ come from?
The name YUPNOWZ comes from the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle it is a realization that nothing in your life exist outside of the present moment and emotions such as guilt, depression, resentment come from dwelling on your past experiences and that fear, worry, anxiety and stress come from putting too much attention on the future. Now is the only moment that exist the future only comes as another now and the past is just a memory stored in your mind by focusing on the present moment and allowing it to be you actually are connecting yourself with what the universe has aligned for you; this will instantly give you a better quality of life.

Did somebody dare Frank and Jamie McCourt to appear as publicly ridiculous as possible? As if the beleaguered ownership duo couldn’t have come off any creepier, Bill Shaikin reports in the L.A. Times this morning that for the entirety of their ownership the daffy pair have employed a reclusive Russian mystic to will the team to victory. That is correct — the estranged Tsar and Tsarina of Dodgertown have their very own Rasputin on the payroll.
Reportedly earning bonuses well into the six-figures depending on Dodger playoff performance (and presumably exiled to Siberia following the team’s dreadful 91-loss 2005 campaign), Vladimir Shpunt, a mysterious 71-year-old Russian émigré physicist and faith healer, is paid by the Dodgers brain trust to sit in a room in (ugh!) BOSTON and meditate the team to victory. Well, hats off to the two for developing a winning strategy in the absence of actually spending money on team payroll, as I understand there was a much more expensive Vladimir that some unenlightened fans hoped the team would pursue.

Here’s Betelgeuse. It’s a star. A really big, prominent one. If you go outside and take a look at the constellation Orion, it’s his right shoulder.
That might not look like much, but it is. There are only about a dozen stars in the universe that can be imaged as a disc, instead of a point, on even the largest telescopes. We can see sunspots on it. This star is staggeringly enormous, it’s about 1000 times the diameter of the sun. If you took Betelgeuse and overlaid it on the Sun, the outer edge of the star would be somewhere out by the orbit of Saturn. It is the ninth-largest star in the observable universe.
