Dr. Dre and HP have collaborated on a new laptop computer dubbed the, HP Envy 15 Beats Limited Edition Notebook PC, that features integrated Beats Audio. The integrated Beats Audio is actually a collaboration between Dre, Jimmy Iovine, and HP engineers which enhances the computer’s audio system. The computer itself comes in a piano Black colorway with the signature Beats design that can be found in the Beats by Dr. Dre collection of headphones. A short video has been created to showcase the new collaboration between Dre and HP and features the instrumental of his new single, “Under Pressure”, that features Jay-Z.

We caught up with Dax from the YUPNOWZ to get in-depth look into the Southern California band with a universal groove.

Where does the name YUPNOWZ come from?

The name YUPNOWZ comes from the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle it is a realization that nothing in your life exist outside of the present moment and emotions such as guilt, depression, resentment come from dwelling on your past experiences and that fear, worry, anxiety and stress come from putting too much attention on the future. Now is the only moment that exist the future only comes as another now and the past is just a memory stored in your mind by focusing on the present moment and allowing it to be you actually are connecting yourself with what the universe has aligned for you; this will instantly give you a better quality of life.

Who is in your band and what do they play?

The band has 5 members. Kenny Aguilar – drums/percussion, Jonathan Cuervo- guitar/vocals, Zach Slater on electric and upright bass, Dax Mafesi- guitar/tres vocals, Jacob Shemesh- latin percussion/ acoustic guitar.

Who are your musical influences?

The YUPNOWZ draws influence from alot of different styles. Being that we have a multicultural band we draw influences from funk, rock, pop, latin, reggae and even jazz.

Who or what inspires you guys?

Our biggest inspiration is life itself, the realization that we are all here in this great universe and that we all are connected in some way or another.

If you had the chance to play anywhere in the world, where would it be?

This questions tough cuz, YUPNOWZ has members who are from everywhere north america, south america, europe, caribbean and the middle east, and im sure we’d all love to play in all our home towns hahahahaha, we wana tour the world!
